The Nominations for the 2025 Elinor Ostrom Award is Now Closed
The Nomination Process
The Elinor Ostrom Award will award work already done, for Scholars as well as for Practitioners. The process is divided into two phases: (1) Nominations and (2) Assessment.
For Practitioners:
- Nomination letter (Please use this nomination letter template)
- Proof of the existence of the community, individual or group (preferably a legal document which acknowledges the existence of the practitioner)
- Two recommendation letters by academics, local communities or local, regional, national or international governmental or non-governmental organizations, which are external to the nominated practitioner and which have worked with them in areas relevant to the Award
For Scholars
- Nomination letter (Please use this nomination letter template)
- Two recommendation letters by academics or practitioners
- The CV of the nominee
Note that the award application can be done only through nomination (no self-nominations please).
Initial pre-screening nomination files should be emailed to ostromaward@gmail.com no later than 20th November 2024.
The assessment process will occur after the pre-screening process. Nominators will be directly informed of the relevant deadlines and documents to be submitted once the pre-screening process is over.
The final selection of winners will be made by the Award Council among the candidates with the highest evaluation scores (avoiding conflict of interest). The final decision will be irrefutable.
Seventh Award Ceremony - June 2025
The Seventh Edition of the Elinor Ostrom awards will be announced and given at the XX Biennial IASC Conference - 'Regenerating the Commons', being held in Amherst, Massachusetts, USA from June 16 - 20, 2025.
